The Minor Seminary

Our Lord Jesus Christ calls at any age, and St. John Paul II said that many vocations are discovered precisely in childhood.
The task of our Minor Seminary is, therefore, to create an environment in which those who have already glimpsed the seed of this vocation can develop for the good of the Church, for the salvation of souls, but also and above all to assume the very high task that Our Lord Jesus Christ has indicated to them.
The Minor Seminary is the place that welcomes young people, from 12 to 18 years of age, who show signs of a vocation. We always try to make the boys see the beauty and the greatness of the consecrated life.
The minor seminarian must grow in the missionary spirit of our Institute. This is why we teach them from an early age to pray, to offer sacrifices for souls and for missionaries, in order to form in them a true priestly heart

The Method
The method used is that of St John Bosco, the preventive method. Watch over the boys, be with them throughout the day.
Love the boys and make them feel loved. So that, seeing in superiors and educators the figure of Christ, love for God grows in them.
Spiritual Formation
The main concern of the rector, formators and assistants is the spiritual growth of the boys, i.e. the holiness of every minor seminarian.
This is why Holy Mass takes centre stage. It is the most important moment of the day, because, as our dear Founder used to say, ‘The Seminary is the Holy Mass’.
Holy Mass together with Eucharistic Adoration, which is done every day for half an hour, and the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary are the pillars of the spiritual formation of the minor seminarian.
Through prayer, growth in the virtues of the young man is sought, especially in fraternal charity, holy cheerfulness and purity.

"
When you have the good fortune to serve Mass, think about what St John Chrysostom says: 'While Mass is being celebrated, around the altar are the choir of angels who attend with great reverence, so that to help the priest in such a high ministry is more a task of angels than of men
"
Human Formation
The minor seminarian's day is full of different formation activities, such as work. In fact each minor seminarian has a different office.
In the week there is also sport. These activities help us in the practice and development of the virtues.
All this takes place in a family environment, a community environment and very cheerful, because, as St John Bosco said, 'holiness consists in being very cheerful'.
